About me
I grew up in Columbia Heights and graduated Columbia Heights High School in 2020. After living in Minneapolis for a few years, I am back to serve the community that raised me. I believe that government should be transparent, accountable, and focused on making tangible improvements that make daily life in Columbia Heights better for everyone.
My approach to problem solving involves deeply analyzing every angle, hearing from every perspective, deciding the best outcome and developing steps to achieve it. As a council member most of my time working will be communicating with constituents and community members, always putting the peoples priorities first.
If elected I will bring a youthful energy, drive, and genuine willingness to work with the community to move Columbia Heights forward. I would be truly honored to receive your vote this November 3rd.
Platform
Community Safety
- Terminate Flock camera contract and ensure no corporations have access to public data
- Fast track / rebuild sidewalks and protected bike lanes, especially near schools and parks
- Expand non-police crisis response
Support Local Business
- Reduce barriers to entry and expansion via streamlining permitting and licensure
- Organize local business fairs to build local community
- Expand façade improvement program
- Local business fair, food truck festivals
- Free public events like concerts and movie nights
- City hosted workshops for community organizing (mutual aid, community gardens, etc.)
- City hosted mentorship programs
Affordability
- Incentivize more dense mix of housing types in new construction
- Increase renter protections
- Support / Incentivize cost reducing home improvement projects
- City officials speaking to students and community groups
- Form a youth council to increase community engagement
- Better marketing for government services
- Better marketing for city council meetings
